From the very beginning of treatment, Invisalign uses 3-D imaging technology to map out the position of your teeth from the very beginning, all the way to the end-result. This allows us to create your customized set of aligners, each of which are worn for about 2 weeks, and then replaced by the next aligner in the series.
One of the most common tips we offer our patients about Invisalign is to clean them! While it might seem obvious at first, you’d be surprised by how many patients slack off when it comes to cleaning their aligners.
By keeping your plastic aligners as clean as possible, you ensure that they’re also invisible as possible. Of course, this is on top of simply cleaning them to make sure they remain free of bacteria that feeds decay.
Cleaning your Invisalign aligners easy and only takes a couple minutes a day.
It’s important to note that Invisalign isn’t a cure-all for your teeth. Unfortunately, some conditions simply require a more traditional solution, and would take much longer with Invisalign. For example, severe bite correction and rotation might be treated with add-on’s to the Invisalign system, but could also do better with a more traditional approach. But don’t be discouraged! Dental technology has come a long way, making even the more traditional braces drastically less noticable. If Invisalign isn’t the best option for you, we’re more than happy to walk you through the alternatives to find a less-noticeable brace that works for your teeth and your lifestyle. Some of the most popular options include clear braces and lingual (behind your teeth) braces.
